The Ultimate Hiking Adventure
On February 16, 2024 we celebrated the independence of Lithuania, Finland, and Ukraine through hiking. From leisure 4 km walk to challenging 106 km trek, the event offered something for everyone.
Event moments 2024
More than 100 hikers in over 10 locations in the world celebrated the independence of Lithuania, Finland, and Ukraine through hiking!
4 km - the number of times Lithuania, Finland, and Ukraine have won the Eurovision Song Contest combined.
8 km - a symbol of peace and unity, representing the relationships between Lithuania, Finland, and Ukraine.
21.75 km - this is 73.73 - 35.18 - 16.8, respectively representing the percentage of land covered by forests in Finland, Lithuania, and Ukraine.
33 km - the number of years Ukraine has been free this year! And will always remain so ❤️
46 km - the number of years the second Soviet occupation in Lithuania lasted.
72 km - the number of days from when the Finns declared independence on December 6, 1917, until the Lithuanian declared independence on February 16, 1918.
106 km - the anniversary of the Lithuanian Independence and the continuation of 24-hour hike.

Final event
At 18:00 there will be a gathering in Agora hall, University of Jyväskylä.
In the event there will be snacks and drinks, live interviews with students from Ukraine and fellow hikers from the 104 km and 105 km hikes in 2022 and 2023.
Everyone (including non-hikers) is welcome!
In 2024 the hike in Jyväskylä was dedicated to fundraise money for Ukrainian soldiers!
A price ticket of 15 EUR or more from registered individuals and a donation of 100 EUR or more from organisations is anticipated if participating in the event in Jyväskylä.
Any donation is welcome from the ones joining elsewhere 🙏
